Summer fiesta!

Last saturday, we organized a big hike to Snow Lake which is about 35 miles east of our home.  After an hour and a half of hiking, with spectacular views of the Snoqualmie valley, we gained 1,200 feet to reach the ridge and saw the beautiful, still partly snow covered lake. Emil made Taiwanese style sandwiches (with homemade mayo!) and KC prepared a variety of sushi for our lunch before the hike. It was yummy! After the hike, we headed back to our place for a BBQ, and of course, rock band.  We also played cranium together for the first time and ended with a round of poker.  It was a very nice day.

Sunday with friends in Kirkland

We met up for peanut butter bacon burger at this burger joint in downtown Kirkland.  Only Amy ordered their special.  The other burgers were good too and the weather was excellent.  We took a short walk around the neighborhood, had some yogurt and headed back to Amy's for a Wii fit workout session.

Lavender Festival

This past Saturday, we traveled 3 hours by road and ferry to Sequim, WA for their annual Lavender Festival. We got there a little late but managed to visit a couple of farms and had some very fresh seafood dinner before heading home.  Oh and the lavender & blueberry ice cream was the best ever and only $2 for a huge scoop!
