Mag's parents arrive in Seattle

Mag's parents (Peter and Teresa) arrived today from Singapore. It has been over a year since we last saw them and two years since their last visit to the US. After picking them up, we first stopped by Ranch 99 to buy some groceries and then went home to cook a quick lunch. Mag prepared some really yummy dishes which we gobbled up clean.

Afterwards, all four of us drove to Pike's Market and spent the afternoon taking in the sights and buying flowers and cheesecake! The weather was perfect: sunny and not too hot. After Pike's Market, we drove to the International District for more grocery shopping at Viet Wah before heading home.

When we got back, everyone but Will took a short nap during which Emil came over to help with dinner. We made another quick, yet delicious meal, watched a few episodes of Planet Earth and then we tried to bake our very first banana bread. While the bread was baking, we quickly tried the assortment of cheesecake that we bought at Pike's Market. It was really moist and delicately sweetened. After another episode of Planet Earth, the bread was done. While the bread was real tasty, it turned out to be a bit on the doughy side. We'll have to try another recipe for our next attempt.

Hey Mag and Will, never knew you started a blog. Seattle is beautiful and looks like you have a wonderful kitchen in your new home.
