Halloween cometh...little children beware!!!

"Trick of treat...smell my feet...give me something good to eat"

Mag and Will spent the evening decorating their front porch.  This is the first Halloween that Mag and Will will be celebrating at their new house. They also stopped by Costco and bought three large bags of candy - Snicker bars, Hershey's, KitKat, M&Ms, Starbust, Reeses, Skittles, Jolly Ranchers - you name it, they got it.  They are anticipating lots and lots of little trick-o-treaters.  If not, they are going to put on some serious pounds eating all that candy!

Leaves, leaves everywhere

It was a dark and stormy night.  The winds howled violently shaking the house to its foundations.  Little Maggie and Willie hid under their bed covers, terrified of the screeching tree branches and stampeding rain drops.  It was an eerie and soulless night.  It was...

a typical Northwest wind storm.

Just look at the backyard the next day littered with leaves!

POO-LAH-TEAS to the CORE baby!

Hi family and friends.

Today, we will discuss the wonderful world of pilates.

Mag and I have been taking pilates classes on and off for the past six weeks to get our tummys in shape for winter. Yes...winter. Most of you are probably asking yourselves right now...why winter and not spring? Isn't spring the time when everyone tries to get their bodies in shape for summer bikini season? The answer would be yes for most normal human beings but Mag and I are different.

We are working our core muscles now in preparation for holiday feasting! YES! Holiday feasting! And what better time to gorge oneself than during the holiday season. Bring it on baby!

We first jump on the sugar train with Halloween. Mag and I bought a big bag of chocolates two weeks ago telling ourselves that we were preparing early for the kids who come trick or treating. Of course, we have since picked out all the best mini bars for ourselves (Mag loves Almond Joys and I love KitKats) and have been eating and hording them like little chipmunks.

After Halloween, we proceed immediately to our joint birthday party on Nov. 4 & 5 where I see lots of grilled meat, cake and alchohol which we all know does wonders for the waistline.

Then comes the biggest feast day of all - Thanksgiving. We currently do not have any plans to spend this joyous holiday with any family or friends so that just means we have to finish the 15 lbs turkey that will be in the oven all by ourselves. For those that know our social circle, you are screaming to yourselves at this point, why isn't Emil helping to eat all this food!?! FYI...Emil doesn't eat meat after 5pm. He's on this new Taiwanese meat deprevation diet. I hear it does wonders for one's complexion.

And the final two, yes you guessed it, Christmas and New Year's. More food. More booze. More of everything! The only thing there won't be more of is waistline!

Our muscles are tight and they will only get tighter. Our metabolism are high and they are only getting higher. Sounds like a Door's song...Girl, we couldn't get much higher! Click here for lyrics...

By the way, this is how we look now and this is how we plan to stay!

Will's new phone

Today is the day that Will finally bought a new phone so he can access his work e-mail and meeting appointments when he is not in front of his computer. He went to the Redmond Towncenter AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular) store with Emil and decided on the new AT&T Tilt smartphone. It runs Windows Mobile 6 and after a painless 10 minutes of setup by the sales associate, Will was able to download all 200 of his work e-mails plus sync all his meeting appoints for the rest of the year. Will thinks this is the best smartphone he has ever used. It's definitely an order above his old Treo 650 in terms of productivity. However, it still doesn't have that WOW factor that the iPhone has. We will see how things progress over the next few weeks as Will gives his new phone a run for its money.

Salmon days in Issaquah

We went to the annual Salmon Days Festival in downtown Issaquah. This fall festival celebrates the return of the salmon from their journey at sea to the Issaquah Creek and hatchery to spawn. I find it fascinating how the salmon would swim such long distances to return to their place of birth and at the final stage, struggle upstream against the current for the sake of laying their eggs in a safe place before they die...

The festival had many food vendors, artists promoting their craft, live music and entertainment. It was fun!

A tap dance performance

Potpourri in glass jars filled with parrafin oil and a fiberglass wick makes a beautiful display that supposedly lasts for years. We were sold.

Umm...don't think so.

A bald eagle up close and personal!
