DTF!

After more than 6 months of anticipation, the legendary Din Tai Fung restaurant most noted for their signature steamed buns (“xiao long baos”) finally opens their first franchise (2nd restaurant in the U.S.) in Bellevue, WA!

Nicole put our names down on the waitlist around 5p and 11 of us met up later that evening at her tailoring boutique. Around 7.30p, the time we were supposed to be seated, Will and Emil trekked across the street to pick up some snacks to tie us over.

Close to 9p, Antje gave up and KC took Yihong home. Then, there were 8… Just after 9p, after more than 3 hours of waiting, we finally got seated. We ordered like there was no tomorrow (well, that’s partly true because most of us decided we will never come back anytime soon). Verdict? The food was good, the ambience was nice but a 3-4 hour wait? Never again!

No wonder Annatje is smitten with Yihong. Look at him! Doesn’t he look like a little model?!
