Will and I landed last night (Saturday night) about 9pm and checked into a really cool bed and breakfast located in the French Concession neighborhood called Quintet. Guess what? The owner is a young lady, our age, and she had lived many years in the States, BAY AREA to be exact, and worked at DELOITTE CONSULTING the same time Will was a consultant there! We immediately hit it off with her and felt that we were definitely fated to pick her bed and breakfast for our first 3 nights in Shanghai.
The first order of business was to take a quick shower and head straight for the nearest massage palour! At midnight! Many of them (reputable establishments don't worry) operate until 2am in the morning! It was exactly what we needed - an hour of accupressure massage for US$12/hour. We were so impressed we bought a package deal from them! I guess we are coming back for the next 3 days!

Enjoy your trip in shanghai. Check out the jazz clubs. I love the ma la tang at Xu Jia Hui station, near a beauty parlour called "Hua Feng" or something. Can't quite remember.
